Kintsugi testnet launched. The Ethereum developers launched the Kintsugi testnet to test how the preparations for the transition to ETH 2.0 are progressing. It will help to figure out what will be the results of merging 2 blockchains with different algorithms for reaching consensus. Currently, the Ethereum network operates on the basis of a Proof-of-Work algorithm, and the new network will use a more sustainable mining option - Proof-of-Stake.
After that, the last stage of testing will be activated, when different testnets will be combined by merging. Once they stabilize, the main blockchain network will switch to a new block mining algorithm.
According to the co-founder of the blockchain network Joseph Lubin, this will happen in the II-III quarter of 2022.#bitcoin #ethereum #kintsugi
