BAD EMOTIONAL STATE YESTERDAY! Here is why:
I started the day by waking up and telling my lovely wife that it wouldn't be wise to trade today because I'm not feeling well.
As a discretionary trader (vs system trader /check on Google), you need to be at 100%. You need to also be emotionally balanced between your negative and positive thought. Yesterday, I wasn't and this is why:
Indeed, I had slept less than 5 hours and I had a major concern regarding my son. Long story short, my son doesn't have any nationality yet because of my nomad journey and the French embassy made a big mistake postponing the entire process. My son cannot get any medical insurance nor register to a pre-school. I have also booked very expansive holidays for friends and family and I might have to cancel because of that (not being able to travel). I was literally fuming all night. Couldn't sleep... Waking up every hour with the feeling of anger... thinking what I would reply to them next day. The mistake was made because they messed up my email. There was a missing document and the message never got through to me. Actually it did 2 days ago 70 days later. IT was a stupid mistake. They put '-' instead of '.' between my name and my surname in e-mail but they didn't check that the email wasn't sent properly and didn't bother to call me with the phone number they required in the form.
'People working in the French administration are lazy. The least they do the better it is. I had so much administrative issues with them in the 4 countries I lived'
So I woke up telling my wife I shouldn't trade and I lost $12,000 on funded account quickly trying to SHORT the DAX just before a new event. I was due to payout for $7000, Then I lost 2% on the challenge account (200k FTMO) on the EURUSD. Then I lost almost 2% on BITCOIN by ending with a gambling trade to close the day.
You see the picture. For the funded account, I lost a month of work, for BTC I lost my weekly profits and luckily I lost only 2% on the challenge but I was 0.4% away to pass the 10%.
I was on TILT (from Poker) yesterday, that's the word. I got lucky I didn't lose my 300k funded account. 15k and I was out.
Today I won't be trading and I need to understand how important is to have a balance emotional state. I'm a high stake trader now and if I want to be consistent and I need to understand myself better. I need to keep working on my trading mindset because after 6 years of trading, I still have a lot of room of improvement.
I've always been honest to you and this is the life of a full time trader.
Yesterday was a BAD day for me but I will use that experience to become a better trader
