In a now-deleted tweet from CoinMarketCap, they acknowledged the incorrect price displaying on their website and app.
At 8:54 am, December 15, 2021, CoinMarketCap announced that the issue has been fixed and they will reboot their servers.
Since Trust Wallet displays each token's price from CoinMarketCap data, it also reflected the exact wrong price from CoinMarketCap.
By the time of this posting, prices on both CoinMarket and Trust Wallet have returned to normal.
