Recently, MTV stated that they would be holding virtual concerts and awarding prizes for "𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞." This action marks the beginning of a new trend in the music industry, which is the shift toward virtual concerts.
The first artists nominated for the upcoming VMAs on 28/8/2022 are Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, Twenty-One Pilots, Justin Bieber, BLACKPINK, and BTS. They all have performances on different metaverse platforms, like Roblox, Fortnite, PUBG MOBILE, and Minecraft.
In addition, MTV designed its own VMAs metaverse experience in Roblox, which featured music and dance-focus games as well as a red carpet for taking metaverse photos.
In short, current events have shown that the Web3 trend is being adopted over the globe. Web3 adoption is expected to skyrocket by 2025, despite the fact that this is still a young industry and the policy is still unclear.
