Governor Lee Cheol-woo said South Korea's Gyeongbuk province plans to use the metaverse to expand economic and other relations with Vietnam.
“We will prioritize expanding economic, cultural, trade and people-centered exchanges with Vietnam by leveraging the metaverse,” said Mr. Lee during his visit to Vietnam.
Gyeongbuk Province plans to invest 18 billion won ($13.8 million) to become a metaverse innovation hub.
Korea recently poured 187 million USD into the domestic metaverse ecosystem, and the development of metaverse and Web3 was also put on the national priority list.
