The world of e-sports with its tournaments, prizes and everything else is currently centrally organized and controlled by a handful of companies. We want to use a de-fi cryptocurrency to change this situation and put the people back in control who should’ve had it from the start: the players.
We want to take the gamers, streamers and investors on a journey to rethink how e-sports should be organized. All we need to achieve this is the energy of the gaming community and our cryptocurrency MGP.
The concept is as simple as it is effective: MGP is a cryptocurrency that can be traded on various online exchanges. For each transaction carried out, fees are incurred (see tokenomics), which, among other things, flow into a prize money pool for future tournaments. In addition, part of the transaction fee is burned, which makes the individual MGP coins rarer and thus more valuable in the future, and another part is distributed among all owners of MGP coins (holder award). Furthermore, a small part of the transaction fee goes into a marketing wallet, which will be used to pay for future advertising and fees for listings on more crypto exchanges.
Every gamer who wins a tournament or achieves some other kind of in-game achievement has the option to sell his won coins right away or to keep them for a longer period of time. The latter can be quite worthwhile, because the person constantly receives more coins over time due to the redistribution aspect of the transaction fee and can additionally wait until the MGP Coins increase in value and sell them at a later date for even more than the original prize money.
Initially, the tournaments will still be organized centrally by a group of admins. At a later point in time (see roadmap), players will be able to organize tournaments themselves with a certain part of the prize pool through consensus decisions. Through a connection to the APIs of the game developers, it can then be verified that a player has really fulfilled the set goal and the prize can be distributed automatically via a smart contract.
