On Monday Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Michael Saylor, the founder and CEO of MicroStrategy hosted the meeting with the North American BTC miners. The miners agreed to form the Bitcoin Mining Council following the closed-door meeting.

The Council includes industry leaders like Marathon Digital, HIVE Blockchain, Hut 8 Mining, Galaxy Digital, Argos Blockchain, Blockcap, and Riot Blockchain.

These North America-based mining companies have all agreed to “promote energy usage transparency and accelerate sustainability initiatives worldwide”.
