Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) had another strong week, with net inflows surpassing $2.2 billion between Feb. 12 and Feb. 16. According to Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, the combined volume was higher than inflows received by any other among the 3,400 ETFs available in the United States. BlackRock's fund IBIT received the majority of capital, amassing positive flows of $1.6 billion over the past week, as revealed by data from BitMEX Research.

Bitcoin (BTC) mining companies appear to have bottomed out following the approval of spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the U.S. last month, and broker Bernstein advises buying its preferred stocks in the sector ahead of the next reward halving, it said in a research report Thursday. The world’s largest cryptocurrency has performed well ahead of the halving, in which the reward miners earn for their efforts is slashed by 50%, and will probably sustain momentum for the rest of the year, Bernstein said.

Ethereum core developers have implemented the Dencun upgrade on Holesky, marking the final Ethereum testnet upgrade before an anticipated mainnet deployment next month. The phased approach for implementing the upgrade previously saw Dencun deployed on the Goerli testnet on Jan. 17 and the Sepolia testnet on Jan. 30. MicroStrategy, the largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin, says it acquired an additional 850 BTC in January bringing its total holdings to 190,000 BTC — worth $8.1 billion. In its Q4 2023 Feb. 6 earnings call, the business software firm’s chief financial officer, Andrew Kang, said it acquired 56,650 BTC throughout 2023 at an average price of $33,580. MicroStrategy posted a net income of $89.1 million, compared with a loss of $249.7 million in the year prior.
