One of the largest international news agencies founded in 1846 Associated Press has announced the launch of its own NFT marketplace where users will be able to buy and sell photos in form of NFTs in order to encourage photojournalism. The platform will be launched on 31st of January on Polygon. Every asset will have an info about the place and the date of the photo. According to the Associated Press release buyers will be able to purchase the NFTs via crypto or credit card. One of the first NFTs to be placed will be an NFT of a Pulitzer Prize-winning photo of a Jewish settler challenging Israeli security officers by Oded Balilty.

The largest NFT marketplace platform OpenSea has attracted $300M from private investors Paradigm and Coatue. The platform is going to direct these funds to the creation of new products, staff expansion and increasing level of service. After this investment round the total valuation of the platform has increased to $13,3bn. Interesting to mention that NFT trading volume in 2021 was also about $13bn, 88% of this volume was on the OpenSea.
