Leading New York Mayoral Candidate Eric Adams Says New York Will Become "Bitcoin Hub"
On the eve of the race for the mayor of New York on Tuesday, Democratic leader Eric Adams briefly endorsed the world's largest cryptocurrency.
“I'm going to promise you that in a year you will see another city,” Adams said.
"We will become a center for life sciences, a center for cyber security, a center for unmanned vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, a center for bitcoins."
Adams is currently ahead of his closest rival Maya Wiley, according to a New York Times report on Wednesday, Adams is ahead of 75,000 votes. Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Young, a longtime Bitcoin supporter and cryptocurrency advocate, dropped out of the race early on with just 11.7% of the vote.
