Doing a quest from the Scroll project

Scroll is a zkEVM Layer2 solution designed to solve Ethereum's scalability problem.

Investment: closed another round of funding for $50 million ($80 million total) from Polychain Capital, Sequoia China, Bain Capital Crypto and others. The project is currently valued at $1.8 billion.

They recently had a new activity on Layer3 where we will need to complete quests to pick up an achiever and free NFT in the future.

What to do.

1. Switch to Layer3.
2. Do the quizzes.
3. Add a test network Scroll.
4. Getting test tokens.
5. Bridging tokens from the Ethereum network to Scroll.

Good opportunity to be active on the new blockchain. Maybe there will be a drop and you will get some reward.

BLOCKCHAIN DISTINCTION: L0, L1, L2 & L3

The ever-increasing use of crypto has led to the need to create "tiers" of blockchains. This classification allows for increased network security, transaction speed, scalability, and more.

Layer 0 is a kind of "basic" layer necessary for interchain interoperability. This is the network structure running under the blockchain, including protocols, hardware, miners and other components that make up the blockchain ecosystem.

The main features are:
- enabling blockchains to interact with each other;
- availability of infrastructure for developers;
- fast and cheap transactions on crosschain exchanges, thanks to the IBC-protocol.

Layer 1 is a blockchain that can conduct transactions without the participation of another network. Its main problem: as the number of users increases, blockchain performance and transaction processing speed can decrease.

Let's make an analogy: if dApps is an offline store that everyone visits, the L1 blockchain is the plot of land on which it is built, and L0 is the road networks that connect the land plots.

Layer 2 is a protocol deployed on top of the main L1-blockchain. It helps increase system throughput, transaction speed, and scalability.

Layer 3 is what is known as an "application" level blockchain. L3 includes various decentralized solutions and protocols that enable applications.

See the new infographic for examples of all layers of blockchain.

Blockchain is about more than just cryptocurrencies

Secure storage and transmission of data is a headache of our time. Thick stacks of papers are all too easy to destroy or tamper with, and services for working with large databases can fail at any time and permanently delete information.

The pill that helps relieve that pain is blockchain technology. A couple of scientists described its first principles back in 1991. To check originality, they suggested encrypting documents cryptographically, turning them into a chain of blocks, and adding time stamps to each block.

So why, after so many years, did everyone suddenly remember and start implementing blockchain? There are several reasons for this:

Security and invulnerability. Due to decentralization (more details in the next post), it is impossible to fake or change data in the blockchain.
No intermediaries. All transactions (data transfers) are peer-to-peer, i.e. from one user to another.
Instancy and availability. Transfers online happen in seconds and can be sent anywhere in the world.

Blockchain has made alternatives to traditional payment systems, online data storage and even the most transparent and fair elections possible. The technology is considered revolutionary for a reason.

How long do you think it takes for blockchain technology to become an integral part of our lives?
