After over a month, Immunefi has released the inquest into the bug that was identified by a white hat hacker on the Polygon blockchain. The firm announced a reward of $75,000 to the hacker for the display of altruism and attention to detail.

Immunefi, a bug bounty platform, revealed via a “Bugfix Review” that Polygon’s team had successfully fixed the bug that was identified by Niv Yehezkel. The white hacker alerted the team after the discovery of a vulnerability in Polygon’s smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain on January 15th.

European equity markets fell Monday as Russian President Vladimir Putin pushed through plans to recognize the independence of two Russia-backed territories in Ukraine, stoking the threat of an invasion. Cryptocurrencies were unscathed. Putin outlined the move in a speech, saying any further bloodshed would be on the Ukraine government's conscience.

“As for those who captured and are holding on to power in Kyiv, we demand that they immediately cease military action," Putin said. "If not, the complete responsibility for the possibility of a continuation of bloodshed will be fully and wholly on the conscience of the regime ruling the territory of Ukraine."

OpenSea is experiencing a live hack right now and the leading hypothesis is that it is a phishing hack according to security experts. Pictured below is the email that the hacker has been sending out in order to receive access to user's OpenSea accounts.

Users authorize the "Migration" as instructed in the phishing email and the authorization unfortunately allows the hacker to steal the NFTs. OpenSea is already working on patching the error, but in the meantime all OpenSea users should revoke access from outside sites and transfer NFTs to new wallets.
