For allegedly promoting cryptocurrency fraud, FTX influencers are facing a $1 billion class action lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed by Edwin Garrison seeking $1B against "FTX influencers" for promoting FTX crypto fraud without disclosing compensation. The suit was filed on March 15, naming 8 YouTubers, a talent management company, and the agency's founder.

The Moskowitz Law Firm represents the seven plaintiffs who "purchased an unregistered security from FTX in the form of a YBA." The defendants are accused of promoting it for the financial benefit of themselves and/or FTX.

The suit claims that the SEC warned in 2017 that if yield-bearing accounts are found to be securities, persons promoting them could be prosecuted for promoting unregistered securities or failing to disclose their payments and compensation.

The suit identifies global and national classes of plaintiffs representing "thousands, if not millions, of consumers globally, to whom FTX offered and/or sold YBAs."

What distinguishes Trailing Stop Market orders from Trailing Stop Limit orders?

Trailing Stop orders are essentially Trailing Stop Market orders that function like Trailing Stop Limit orders until the trigger price is met. When that happens, a Trailing Stop order sends a Market order to the exchange, while a Trailing Stop Limit order places a Limit order.

Using a Trailing Stop (Market) order as a Stop Loss and/or Take Profit ensures immediate execution when triggered. However, if the price experiences a sharp movement, there's a possibility that the order might fill at a higher/lower price than the trigger price.

A Trailing Stop Limit order guarantees the order's price when it fills. However, if the price sharply moves past the limit price, there's a chance that the order won't fill and will remain in the order book after triggering.

Therefore, deciding between a Trailing Stop (Market) and Trailing Stop Limit order is a tradeoff between execution and price certainty.

2023-03-03 19:00:13 US DOJ investigates Silvergate over FTX collapse amid partnership termination by major crypto companies

According to reports, crypto bank Silvergate is facing an investigation from the United States Department of Justice over its alleged involvement in the FTX collapse.

Companies such as Paxos, Circle, Bitstamp, and Mike Novogratz's Galaxy Digital have announced that they will no longer accept or initiate transfers with Silvergate after news that Coinbase would no longer take or initiate payments with the crypto bank.

Paxos said it had already “discontinued all [Silvergate Exchange Network] transfers and wires” to the firm’s account, while Circle is “in the process of unwinding certain services” with Silvergate, and Bitstamp said its bank transfer services would be provided by “other global banking partners.”

This news follows Silvergate's announcement that it would postpone the filing of its annual 10-K financial report, which has caused concern that the bank may be on the brink of bankruptcy.

MicroStrategy has confirmed that its BTC collateral is not held by Silvergate, stating that it will not need to pay back a loan from Silvergate until Q1 2025 and that a bankruptcy or insolvency event would not "accelerate" the loan repayment.

Paolo Ardoino, the CTO of Tether, has also confirmed that Tether is not exposed to Silvergate. The collapse of Silvergate could have high costs for the rest of the cryptocurrency industry.

A bankruptcy or insolvency event could significantly impact the rest of the cryptocurrency industry.

When comparing SMA vs. EMA, the EMA is more responsive to recent price changes, while the SMA is slower to react. Similarly, the WMA reacts faster than the SMA, but the EMA is even faster than the WMA since it gives more weight to recent periods. This means that the latest price action is more important, causing it to move more quickly.

A faster Moving Average such as the WMA or EMA is advantageous for short-term trading. In contrast, an SMA is smoother and more suitable for long-term trading.

A faster Moving Average, such as the WMA or EMA, may appear insignificant at first glance, but they provide distinct signals on the chart. Understanding the various types of Moving Averages allows us to interpret these signals accurately.

This article will clarify the distinctions between different types of moving averages, including Simple Moving Average (SMA), Exponential Moving Average (EMA), and Weighted Moving Average (WMA).
