Dormant BTC address worth more than $15m reactivated. The reactivation is one of the largest the crypto world has witnessed in 2021.
A dormant address containing BTC 321 - that's around $15.1m at the current price - was reactivated after exactly 8.8 years on Monday 21 December, according to Whale Alert.
The five largest dormant bitcoin wallets - wallets which have seen no activity for 12 months or longer - are together worth around $9.3bn at the current rate.
Wallets can become dormant either because someone has lost the keys and hence has no access to their crypto stash, or simply because the coins they contain represent someone's life savings or emergency funds.
