PET OWNERSHIP STATISTICS IN 2022 - PET HEALTH CARE FACTS

From unconditional love to emotional support, pets are a vital part of their owners’ lives. Many care for their pets as if they’re family members. We've shown pet ownership statistics around the world to show how the relationship between humans and animals transcends continents and languages.

Worldwide, 33% of households own pets

70% of U.S. households (90.5 million homes) as of 2021
38% of EU households (88 million homes) as of 2020
32% of households in Asia-Pacific (APAC) countries own a dog, compared to 26% who own cats

90% of American households consider dogs as part of the family

For every five millennials, two ages 16-34-year-old pet owners say that they think of their pets as their kids

U.S. pet owners were estimated to spend $9.7 billion in 2021 on services other than veterinary needs, including insurance, grooming, training, and boarding. In 2020, the U.S. spent $31.4 billion on vet care & product sales

Dog owners spend more than $1,000 annually on veterinary check-ups, medication, and medical supplies.

Besides that, most pet owners would probably tell that their pet improves their lives

76% of pet owners report that their personal health has improved as a result of owning a pet
22% pet owners have had a pet recommended for their health by a doctor or therapist
82% of pet owners agree the government should encourage pet ownership for a healthier society

Pets are not only family but also help our mental health a lot.
"Pets are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole”

2022-03-17 10:00:57 Announcement of Migration from Telegram to Discord

Dear Kambrians,

Following the fruitful merging of all local Telegram channels to the Global channel last October, we’d like to continue with the consolidation of communities in Kambria ecosystems.

Up to now, our token holder community is on Telegram, while our developer communities are on Facebook or Discord. So, the token holder community is not well-informed about the happenings from the developer community and partnership progress. This fragmentation also limits the value exchange between communities in the Kambria ecosystem.

Moreover, Telegram channels are limited in structure and support tools, thus inconvenient for members to browse the information and discussions, and for admins to organize community activities.

After evaluating many community platforms we found that Discord would be a better home for us. Discord offers:
- Structured channels for different communities and purposes
- Messages are less likely to be lost in one big chat, members can browse the information and discussions more conveniently
- Support tools for admins to organize community activities

We will be maintaining both Discord and Telegram until March 31, 2022 then only Discord from April 1, 2022 onwards.

Since the inception of Kambria, all community engagement has come through Telegram and it has served us well. We’ve met many admirable community members and received useful feedback. We want to continue to generate positive and useful interactions within the community. Some directions for ecosystem connecting and community engagement activities that we will run on Discord:
- Key stakeholders of Kambria ecosystem such as Innovators, Solution seekers, Token holders and other Partnerships are brought to one place to be able to interact and exchange values.
- The Technology Review Monthly Contests will be opened for both Token holder community and Developer community.
- Discussion topics about crypto market big news, deeptech industries, community interests.
Improve Kambria Rewards System: By participating in Kambria activities, community members accumulate Credit or Karma rewards. Then every quarter we will have Token rewards for Top members with most accumulated Credits and Karmas in the quarter.

Come and join us on Discord! https://discord.gg/DM333x2M55
