US inflation slows to 5% in March
Annual inflation in the United States continued to drop in March, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) growing by 5%, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said in its latest report on Wednesday. By comparison, annual inflation stood at 6% in February. Month-on-month, the CPI increased by 0.1%.

Inflation excluding food and energy was at 5.6% on a yearly basis in March, with the CPI adding 0.4% from February. The energy index decreased 6.4% for the 12 months ending in March, and the food index was up by 8.5% in the same period.
