Lobby Lobsters NFTs raised $4 million in one hour

Non-exchangeable tokens (NFTs) featuring cartoon lobsters in costumes have raised more than $4 million to support lobbying efforts in support of the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. All proceeds from secondary sales will also go to support DeFi's lobbying efforts around the world.

On Sept. 5, the non-interchangeable token platform and community Universe announced that its Lobster NFTs sold out in less than an hour, raising $4 million.

Each NFT was minted for 0.1 ETH (approximately $390), with all 1,000 ethers raised from the initial sales being sent to donate to a "nonprofit organization dedicated to the political issues facing cryptocurrencies." Universe said in a post on its official blog that a beneficiary has been selected, and the name of the organization will be made public shortly.
