2021-08-31 09:07:31 Lower Margin Requirements for XBTUSD Swap, ETHUSD Swap, plus ADAU21, EOSU21, TRXU21, and XRPU21 Futures Now ‘Live’

Today at 06:00 UTC, the risk step of XBTUSD Swap, ETHUSD Swap, and ADAU21, EOSU21, TRXU21, XRPU21 Futures are changed as per below.

XBTUSD Swap Risk Step increased from 100 to 150 XBT
ETHUSD Swap Risk Step increased from 75 to 100 XBT
ADAU21, EOSU21, TRXU21, XRPU21 Futures Risk Step increased from 50 to 75 XBT

Users with positions in the above-mentioned contracts with position size greater than the Base Risk Limit and Risk Limit of First Risk Step will immediately be eligible for lower margin requirements.

2021-08-31 07:21:45 Reduction in Initial and Maintenance Margin for BCHUSD, LTCUSD, TRXUSDT, and SOLUSDT

On 1 September at 04:00 UTC, we will reduce the Base Initial Margin and Base Maintenance Margin requirements for our BCHUSD, LTCUSD, TRXUSDT, and SOLUSDT quanto swaps.

The new Maintenance Margin requirements for BCHUSD, LTCUSD, TRXUSDT, and SOLUSDT will be:

Base Maintenance Margin 1.00%
Base Initial Margin 2.00%

2021-08-26 11:46:39 Introducing Lower Margin Requirements on Large Positions for XBTUSD and ETHUSD Swaps, plus ADAU21, EOSU21, TRXU21, and XRPU21 Futures

We will increase the risk step on our XBTUSD Swap, ETHUSD Swap, and ADAU21, EOSU21, TRXU21 and XRPU21 Futures as detailed below, effective 31 August 2021 at 06:00 UTC.

- The XBTUSD Swap Risk Step will increase from 100 to 150 XBT
- The ETHUSD Swap Risk Step will increase from 75 to 100 XBT
- The ADAU21, EOSU21, TRXU21 and XRPU21 Futures Risk Step will increase from 50 to 75 XBT

Here’s what it means for BitMEX users:

From 31 August at 06:00 UTC, those who have positions in the above-mentioned contracts with position size greater than the Base Risk Limit and Risk Limit of First Risk Step will be immediately eligible for lower margin requirements.

2021-08-24 12:43:53 BitMEX to Remove Binance from the .BXBTEUR Index

Effective 31 August 2021 at 08:00 UTC, we will remove Binance from our .BXBTEUR index. This follows Binance’s decision to suspend euro bank deposits from one of Europe's key payments networks, resulting in a price premium on its platform relative to other index constituents.

All traders should be aware that at the time of the removal, the price of the index may fluctuate substantially. Please exercise caution when trading products referencing the .BXBTEUR index.

2021-08-19 12:27:08 Increased Trader Rewards: Revamp of BitMEX Fee Structures

Effective immediately, the BitMEX Taker Fee has been lowered from 7.5bps (0.075%) to 5bps (0.05%) on all BitMEX products.

Meanwhile, the Maker Rebate has been adjusted from 2.5bps (0.025%) to 1bp (0.01%) across BitMEX.

Lower Taker Fees will apply to traders who qualify for higher tiers by reaching volume thresholds calculated using a 30-day Rolling ADV (“Average Daily Volume”).
