FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has tweeted that adding a spot Cardano (ADA) pair is already on the exchange’s roadmap in response to a disgruntled user. Bankman-Fried has noted that the popular trading platform currently offers perpetual futures tied to the popular cryptocurrency for its international users.

According to data provided by cryptocurrency data company CoinGecko, the ADA token is currently the eighth biggest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Of course, FTX is not ignoring the token intentionally. As explained by Bankman-Fried, it is easier to add support for those tokens whose blockchains the exchange already supports. Hence, adding ERC20 tokens, such as ADABULL, is a relatively seamless process. For now, FTX to make sure that it has good Cardano validator parsing for deposits and withdrawals, Bankman-Fried says.

The court case between the SEC, who accuse Ripple of selling unlicensed securities, and the blockchain company is fast approaching the 2-year mark. Up until now, there have been countless back-and-forths, objections, and red tape preventing the courts from reaching any clear resolution on the matter.

One of the key misgivings Ripple has had about the case is the fact that despite Ether being sold in a similar manner as XRP when founded, ETH was declared to not be a security by former SEC commissioner William Hinman. Ripple believed this could indicate preferential treatment and sought out the transcript of the speech in which Ether was declared to not be a security.

Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson announced that Algorand (ALGO) is now on the Cardano network in reaction to the news that Mikomedia A1 Rollup is live on Algorand. According to the announcement, “Algorand is a non-EVM chain with multiple other unique factors that make it the perfect candidate.

Launching the Layer-2 A1 rollup is a big deal for Cardano and Algorand because it will allow the two networks to connect. This could not have happened without the rollup since both blockchain networks use different architectures. Cardano is based on the UTxO architecture, while Algorand uses Algorand Virtual Machine (AVM). Without the Layer-2 rollup, it would be impossible for the two to connect or swap assets. Meanwhile, the development did not impact the price of ADA or ALGO.

Ripple chief executive Brad Garlinghouse said believes the company’s lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will conclude “in the first half of next year.” “Whether that’s the first quarter, or second quarter, we shall see,” Garlinghouse said during an interview at DC Fintech Week.

The SEC first filed the lawsuit against Ripple, in addition to current CEO Garlinghouse and former CEO Chris Larsen, in Dec. 2020. The federal regulator accused the company of issuing its XRP token without properly registering it as a security, which the authority asserts that the digital asset is.Garlinghouse said both sides have filed motions for summary judgment, meaning the case would be resolved by a judge before going to trial.

With approximately 70% of financial institutions and 59% of consumers in Europe interested in crypto-enabled payments, Ripple has partnered with Lemonway and Xbaht to leverage its On-Demand Liquidity (ODL ) solution to offer crypto payments to customers in France and Sweden.

Paris-based payment provider Lemonway will utilize Ripple’s ODL to enable crypto payment for businesses in France, while Swedish money transfer provider Xbaht will facilitate money transfers between Sweden and Thailand. According to Ripple’s press release on Oct. 11, the new partnerships will eliminate the need for Lemonway and Xbaht to pre-fund their accounts when making transactions abroad. The ODL solution will help address cross-border payment problems.

Ripple Labs scored a tactical victory in its legal battle with the US SEC on Sept. 29 as U.S. District Court Judge Analisa Torres ruled to release the documents written by former SEC Corporation Finance Division Director William Hinman. Hinman went ahead to state during the address that Ether (ETH) was not a security.

In her brief, Judge Torres stated that the SEC’s objection to producing the documents ordered by Judge Sarah Netburn in July could not stand. The SEC has objected to producing the documents on the grounds that the documents are not relevant to the case, are protected by deliberative process privilege (DPP), and come under attorney-client privilege. While Judge Torres’ agreement with Judge Netburn’s ruling on the relevance, DPP, and attorney-client privilege protection of the documents.
