After another recalculation of the difficulty of Bitcoin mining, the difficulty increased by 10.8%, to 20.61 trillion hashes. This is a new historical maximum!
The difficulty of mining bitcoin is recalculated every two weeks according to a rule established at the protocol level to maintain a target block time of about 10 minutes. Block time can vary greatly under the influence of the amount of computing power allocated by miners, but in the long term it remains relatively constant.
