Data from Glassnode analyzed by CryptoSlate shows that USDC leaving Binance is at yearly highs, according to the Exchange Net Position Change chart below. Since August 2021, USDC inflows/outflows to/from Binance have been alternating. The previous three instances of outflows have been growing more significant in magnitude. Further analysis reveals that over $1 billion per day left Binance’s USDC hot wallets this week. Net inflows refer to an amount of stablecoin deposited into the exchange wallet. By contrast, net outflows refer to an amount of stablecoin withdrawn from the exchange wallet.

The founder of Turkish cryptocurrency exchange Thodex Fatih Özer has been arrested in Albania following his 2021 disappearance with funds belonging to roughly 400,000 users. Following the arrest, extradition procedures have been initiated by the Interpol Department of the General Directorate of Security, Turkey’s Interior Ministry said in a statement published on August 30. Özer is accused of disappearing with about $2.7 billion in user funds back in April 2021, when Thodex was considered one of the largest crypto trading platforms in the country. The exit scam was initiated at a period when Bitcoin (BTC) and the general crypto market were experiencing a bull run.

The administration of Iran has passed a set of regulations on trade transactions with cryptocurrencies, according to Reza Fatemi Amin, minister of industry, mines, and trade. Amin made the announcement at an automotive industry exhibition in Tehran on August 29, where he noted that the new law defines regulations on cryptocurrencies, including how to supply fuel and energy for cryptocurrency mining and how to grant licenses.
