The number of liquidations has jumped above $200 million on a daily scale as the entire market is covered in red once more. Bitcoin failed at $32,000 and brought all the altcoins with it south, resulting in another market-wide retracement. Thus, the liquidations and the number of liquidated traders skyrocketed.

Yesterday was a highly positive day for the cryptocurrency market, with bitcoin leading the day following a surge to almost $32,000. The altcoins experienced some notable increases as well, led by Solana and Cardano. However, as it has happened quite a few times in the past several weeks, it turned out to be a false breakout. Instead of heading further north, BTC plummeted by nearly $3,000 in hours and dropped all the way down to $29,000. Overall, the cumulative market cap of all crypto assets is down by $90 billion in a day to just over $1.2 trillion.

It is rather difficult to say right now whether this is accumulation or distribution, because the structure looks more like it's leading to a reversal, but no one has canceled the presence of the downwards trend prior to the plat and the trend remains descending.

As part of its effort to become a global “crypto hub,” the United Kingdom is set to begin live testing blockchain technology for traditional market activities such as trading and settlement of stocks and bonds. As per Nurse, the United Kingdom plans to build a “sandbox” for testing DLT initiatives inside its financial market infrastructure the next year.

The Director General for financial services, Gwyneth Nurse, said the implementation of distributed ledger technology (DLT), which is the technology underpinning cryptocurrencies, is a significant priority for the ministry’s efforts to make the infrastructure of financial markets more creative and user-friendly, according to a statement made by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, June 7 Reuters reported.

California, which would have the world's fifth-largest economy if it was a country, on Wednesday became the first U.S. state to formally begin examining how to broadly adapt to cryptocurrency and related innovations, following a path laid out by President Joe Biden in March.

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an executive order for state agencies to move in tandem with the federal government to craft regulations for digital currencies. It also calls for officials to explore incorporating broader blockchain computer coding into the government operations of the state where much of the world's technological innovation is born. “So there are a lot of opportunities,” she said. “There’s also a lot of unknowns in the industry and so that’s another reason we want to engage early.”

The governance system of LUNA 2.0 is being used to decide on the future of the legacy chain, Luna Classic. Instead of using on-chain governance on Luna Classic, the decision to re-enable IBC on Luna Classic is being made via LUNA 2.0 governance systems.

Terra validator PFC confirmed to CryptoSlate that the proposal could be completed on Luna Classic.
