Congressman Tom Emmer has introduced a bill called the 'CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act' seeking to prevent the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC, citing concerns over privacy and individual sovereignty. The bill would prohibit the Fed from issuing the digital dollar to anyone, as well as from using a CBDC to implement monetary policy and control the economy. The bill also requires transparency to Congress in the Fed's CBDC project and quarterly briefings on pilot projects
