Zhang Huan (张洹) is one of China's best-known conceptual artists, widely known for his early performance art centered around existential explorations and social commentary.

Zhang Huan partnered with Chinese curator expert EchoX and the State Hermitage Museum (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) for the upcoming virtual NFT exhibition Ethereal Aether with his The NFT Art Trilogy series (Ash Square, The Celestial Burial of an Artist, and Poppy Fields)

For The Celestial Burial of an Artist, the artist invites his audience to participate by entering a virtual game room one by one, interacting and attempting to eliminate his avatar dressed in a golden meat suit. Audience will have an opportunity to mint an NFT, which will become a part of the world’s first NFT perfomance.

The Poppy Fields artwork taps into the nature of crypto, with Zhang offering a share of the copyright of the NFT to buyers in the form of mystery boxes. The piece builds on the artist’s signature series recently featured in Dior Lady Art collaboration.

NFT platform Nifty & Warner Bros partnered to launch Matrix Avatars NFT project to promote the fourth film, “The Matrix: Resurrections”.

The avatars will represent characters living in the Matrix. They will be randomly generated and will resemble ordinary people in The Matrix. On December 16th, avatar owners will choose Blue or Red Pill. The Blue Pill will keep the avatars locked in their current state and digital environment (i.e. in the Matrix), while the Red Pill will transform them into Matrix resistance fighters. In the coming months, there will be other challenges and options, letting users upgrade their avatars, or earn new NFTs.

, the South Korean agency behind K-pop megastars BTS, announced today partnership with Korean crypto exchange Upbit to enter NFTs with a new joint venture company.

The plan is to create and sell BTS NFTs on Hybe’s global fan-to-artist communication app, Weverse. Currently, there are plans for animated images and voices of artist. In addition to the NFT JV, there will be a BTS video game, and a ‘webtoon’ business.
