Ayoken, an NFT marketplace for creatives, has raised $1.4 million pre-seed funding to enable users grow their revenue streams through digital collectibles.

Ayoken founder and CEO, Joshua King, told TechCrunch that the marketplace is a bridge between fans and artists, and gives supporters a sense of ownership in the success of their idols. Through the NFT marketplace, he said, fans will have access to tokens such as behind-the-scenes videos and album art. NFT holders will also get other perks like access to unreleased music and exclusive live events by the creatives.

Recently, the US military has begun exploring more complex virtual worlds. In December 2021, the US Air Force held a high-level conference involving over 250 people in locations stretching from the US to Japan, via a virtual environment.

"The promise is integrating these technologies," says Caitlin Dohrman, general manager of the defense division of Improbable, a company that develops virtual world technologies, has created sprawling virtual battlefields featuring over 10,000 individually controlled characters for the UK's military wargames, and also works with the US Department of Defense.

The dev partner of the Solana-based NFT game raised the royalty to 98% from the usual 5%, resulting in the scammer listing the 25 stolen NFTs for sale, which were then bought back and returned.Tales of traders getting scammed out of their nonfungible tokens were quite common at the peak of the NFT boom. However, in an interesting turn of events, the Solana community came together to “scam” a scammer in order to get back some stolen NFTs.

It all started with the Discord channel hack of cross-chain gaming development studio Uncharted NFT, where scammers managed to drain 109 user wallets. The scammers got away with 150-plus SOL tokens and 25 World of Solana (WOS) NFTs, including three rare and highly valuable digital collectibles.WOS is a collection of 2,222 unique heroines, with the most expensive avatar currently listed for 123 SOL ($5,600). The current floor price of the collection is 2.03 SOL.

The tides are shifting in the NFT space of late. The high-value Ethereum NFT market has seen sinking trading volume the last couple weeks, but Solana NFTs are still growing—and over a 24-hour span from yesterday into this morning, the Solana network yielded more NFT volume than Ethereum’s.

It’s a modest difference between the platforms, but this is the first known instance of the smaller Solana market overtaking Ethereum in terms of dollar amount generated via sales during a 24-hour span. According to CryptoSlam, Solana NFT sales were up 436% over that 24-hour span compared to the previous window.

Love, Death + Robots, an animated Netflix show, has just found a new way to interact with its audience through non-fungible tokens (NFTs).There are nine QR codes embedded both across the show's social media accounts as well as the show's episodes. Watchers can use their phones to scan the QR code for access to an NFT which will appear on their OpenSea accounts.

The feature is only available to US users through a MetaMask wallet or Coinbase account. Users will have to pay the gas fees to mint the NFTs they get from scanning the QR code. According to the show's OpenSea account, the NFT floor price currently sits at around 0.003 ETH or $6 USD. Since the show's release on Netflix, there has been $36,000 USD in trading volume with just under 27,000 unique NFT owners.

A Proof Collective member has fallen victim to a scam, losing 29 highly-valuable Ethereum (ETH)-based Moonbirds. According to a tweet by Cirrus on Wednesday morning, the victim lost 29 Moonbird nonfungible tokens (NFTs) worth $1.5 million after clicking a malicious link shared by a scammer.

Dollar, a Twitter personality and NFT holder, claimed that the so-called culprit is already half doxxed by crypto exchange and that Proof Collective and members are currently working on a full report to the FBI.Just1n.eth, another user, claimed that while he was attempting to negotiate a deal, a trader insisted on using an unsavory "p2peer" platform to conclude the transaction. Sulphaxyz confirmed that it happened to him as well and identified the con artist as the same culprit.

As NFTs have gained popularity, so, too, has NFT fraud. Copycats can quite easily upload images to an NFT marketplace, mint them and sell them to customers for profit without verifying that those images are their own intellectual property.

While NFT marketplaces are required to comply with copyright laws, NFT fraud can be tough to spot, especially since crypto wallet addresses can't always be traced to the real identities of their owners. Doppel, a startup founded in February this year by ex-Uber engineers Kevin Tian and Rahul Madduluri, just nabbed $5 million in seed funding led by crypto exchange FTX's venture capital arm to track down counterfeit digital assets.
