Saga – the web3 phone from Solana - is supposed to act as a hardware crypto wallet and a full Node in the network. The phone is a modified OSOM with specialty crypto wallet functions and Solana Mobile Stack – the company’s Web3 development kit. The device will feature integrated Solana Pay to facilitate QR code-based payment and a mobile wallet adapter.

It is currently unclear if this phone is going to have all the integration required to be both a full node and a participant in the Solana network.

Obviously, to gain any sort of traction on the market the device should also be at least on-pair with other smartphones in the competition. A simple fact of supporting Web3 services just won’t cut it and won’t let the Saga out of a narrow, niche market of the most daring crypto-enthusiasts. We’ve seen blockchain phones before, famously in 2018 from Sirin labs. And it has not worked out too well.

The smartphone is still a great opportunity to bring the blockchain to an even broader audience and facilitate interaction for onboard users as well. And the dream of the Web3 phone is definitely alive – at least 1300 people have already preordered a $1000 novelty from Solana even before its official launch.

The US firm is one of today's major content delivery networks (CDNs) and to say, that the outage had a light effect on them would be a huge understatement. Even a number of the down detectors ironically went down because of the error.

The incident clearly serves as another reminder, that the community needs a healthy web3 alternative for a content delivery service.
The situation seems to be fixed now as the damage of these shenanigans is still being measured. At the moment it is still unclear, but a couple of hours of outage can be quite tangible for traders and exchanges.

Once again, we have to thank UST for this one. Luna really did a solid to all the stablecoins by farewelling its peg. With all the recent blows to USDT, including Celsius freezing its withdrawals, and the fact that the token still hasn’t fully recovered from its slight depegging (as of now, USDT trades at around $0,99), fears stay high for a Terra-like collapse. Although the USDT doesn’t use the algorithmic peg such as the UST.

Nevertheless, holders are migrating towards seemingly higher stability of USDC, which generates a snowball effect. But it also needs to be noted that while USDT lost out to USDC on Ethereum, it still has more tokens on Tron compared to Ethereum. Today, Tether informed Euromoney that it is prepared to commit to a full audit of its reserves by a Top 12 firm to offer greater transparency and calm down the fears among investors.
