An often-cited downside of the cryptocurrency industry is the volatility we're familiar with. Without debating it, this negative impression makes adoption more elusive.

Terra tries to address this with its native stablecoins central to the ecosystem – UST and KRT. Algorithmic in nature, they're minted by burning a dollar-equivalent of LUNA, and the reverse is also true.

While a lot of LUNA's run-up is speculation-driven, real-world adoption likely contributed as well. Its Chai e-commerce app enjoyed an average of 100,000 daily transactions, facilitated partly by KRT.

With its algorithmic model somewhat battle-hardened and more dApps coming, Terra is something to keep an eye on.
