Getty Images and Candy Digital have announced a partnership that makes Candy Digital the exclusive developer and marketplace for the Getty Images NFT.

According to the report, web3 is much better for creators than web2. Which is basically what we already knew. But let's look at the numbers:

1. Web2 income from content creators reaches 30-100%, while web3 platforms receive from 0 to 15%, creators get the rest.

2. Based on the number of NFT collections, a16z counted 22,400 web3 creators, while about 3 billion users post content on web2 platforms.

3. But the "per capita" difference is even more significant. Web3 paid $174,000 per creator, while Meta paid $0.10 per user, Spotify paid $636 per artist, and YouTube paid $2.47 per channel.

Web3 is tiny but powerful.

A Twitter user who posts sales of Apes from the BAYC collection reported that someone sold an Ape #6462 for just $200.

BAYC is one of the most expensive NFT collections on the market, with a minimum price currently of 101.75 ETH ($206,000). Considering monkey #6462 has some of the rarest attributes, including a bone necklace, a police motorcycle helmet, and a bored pizza, it's possible that the latest sale was another costly mistake.

If so, it would mean that the owner thought he was accepting an offer for 200 ETH instead of $200. It also means that the former owner sold the Ape for 99.9% below the floor price. Open / Comment
