March 25th, 2020 (-15.95% difficulty adjustment)

Now things get really interesting because this was coming off of the worst week we've ever seen in the markets...ever (numerically, worst than the worst days of the Great Depression...which is saying something).

Dow Jones hit a limit down off of the opening on March 16th, before re-opening and closing down -2900 points...even after the Federal Reserve announced zero reserve requirement + no interest rate + Congress' multi-trillion dollar bailout plan ... and to make things crazier, the Fed actually released some of that news right before the open that day - and it still didn't matter.

Regardless, Bitcoin's ensuing price action following this massive negative difficulty adjustment was >45% in about 1.5 months (price initially drewdown a meager -14% before quickly bouncing & sprinting)

December 3rd, 2018 (-15.13% difficulty adjustment)

This date almost coincided with the official bottom of the last bear market (which is really, really interesting)

Initially, in the 12 days that followed, Bitcoin sank down another -21%, but once it bounced from that bottom, it never looked back.

One could argue that the bullish price action continued on a steady (albeit slow) pace up until the great market crash in 2020 (when all hell broke loose)

December 26th, 2012 (-11.59% difficulty adjustment)

Curiously, the price went crazy following this negative difficulty adjustment (+1634%)

However, once again, 2012 is quite some time ago - so we have to also take this result with a grain of salt

(don't worry this is the last entry we're doing this for! it gets really interesting after this)

October 30th, 2011 (-18.03% difficulty adjustment)

This came just two weeks after the first major drop in difficulty.

Same story here as what we saw w the previous chart; we're not going to put too much weight on the ensuing performance.

October 3rd, 2011 (-13.09% difficulty adjustment)

There's not too much that we can glean from the price action here since the economics of Bitcoin at that point were entirely different in 2011 than they are now.

There were no large mining firms present, VC Firms, institutional investment, etc.

Hell, Barry Silbert hadn't even touched down yet. Tether didn't even exist at this point in time. Mt. Gox hadn't imploded yet.

Satoshi was still communicating with people.

2021-05-01 22:32:12 Taking a Look at the Last Few Difficulty Adjustments

As we can see, there hasn't been a major negative adjustment in the difficulty since November 3rd, 2020 (-16.05%; second greatest drop in difficulty in $BTC's history).

List of Dates When the Bitcoin Difficulty Decreased >10%

1. October 13th, 2011 (-13.09%)

2. October 30th, 2011 (-18.03%)

3. December 26th, 2012 (-11.59%)

4. December 3rd, 2018 (-15.13%)

5. March 25th, 2020 (-15.95%)

6. November 3rd, 2020 (-16.05%)

Let's See How the Price Changed After Each Major Adjustment in Difficulty

Since we know that Bitcoin is headed for a reduction in difficulty of >10% and we have a list of each time the Bitcoin difficulty has decreased >10% (only 6 times, so pretty rare), let's see how the price has reacted afterward

2021-04-29 11:49:42 Market Index Analysis

This is long past due, but recently an in-depth market analysis was published.

We all know that the blockchain markets are bullish right now (anyone can see that), but we need more information than that.

We want to figure out what the most lucrative investments are in the top 100 (i.e., T100 picked to ensure greatest chance of availability + liquidity)

There goes dogecoin off to the races again.

Only a dunce cap would even consider sinking their money into an asset like this.

Zero real liquidity, pumped & dumped to high hell (there's even a comprehensive guide out about how to pump & dump dogecoin; was being passed around all throughout 2017 in this space.

This is the quintessential IQ test of the blockchain space.
