The NFT trading platform Tensor, which launched earlier this year, has taken the number one spot in Solana’s NFT marketplace, overtaking Magic Eden in trading volume on the network. Over the past month, Tensor has seen an NFT trading volume of over $1 million, almost double Magic Eden’s, according to analytics platform TIEXO. This means that Tensor makes up an estimated 60% of the total NFT trading market share on Solana.

Magic Eden still has more unique wallet users than Tensor, however, with roughly 116 thousand wallets and a 70% engagement rate compared to Tensor’s 86 thousand wallets and 52% engagement rate. The implication is that many Tensor traders are trading higher with volumes, while Magic Eden may cater to more casual NFT buyers. “At first [we did] a lot of stuff that doesn’t scale,” Moisejevs told Blockworks. “We got our first 50 users by literally hopping into the DMs of top traders and asking them to try the product. Tensor shipped various products in order to appeal to its audience, Moisejevs said, noting that the first version of its product looked similar to the Bloomberg terminal, an approach which appealed to more financial and analytical folks.

Legendary American thrash metal band Megadeth announced a new nonfungible token (NFT) collection on Dec. 5, allowing fans exclusive access to content and physical experiences. The band announced the NFTs on social media through a post on X, formerly Twitter, saying the 5,000-piece collection features the band’s digital mascot, ​​Vic Rattlehead. Spanish blockchain outfit Freeverse has announced it’s building a new layer 1 blockchain called LAOS, which will launch as a parachain on Polkadot in 2024. The announcement has been made in conjunction with the LAOS Foundation, which is a Swiss non-profit set up to promote the blockchain’s growth in the coming years via its ownership of LAOS tokens. In terms of what LAOS offers, it’s labelled as “the universal layer 1 for digital assets across all blockchains”.

NFTs and other digital assets on LAOS but also supporting blockchains such as Ethereum, Polygon and Solana via LAOS’ bridgeless minting architecture. This leverages Polkadot’s cross-consensus messaging system, notably the concept of a Universal Location. This is enabled because LAOS separates the ownership of an asset and the assets’ attributes. As well as its cross-chain features, this means creators can generate new attributes for assets – including legacy assets – on new blockchains; something it hopes will drive the adoption of UGC and ecosystems. LAOS is currently available as K-LAOS on Polkadot’s Kusama ‘canary’ network.

Korean telco SK Telecom said on Monday it has signed several new publishing partnerships, including one with Malaysian operator CelcomDigi, to expand its metaverse product “ifland” to Southeast Asia. While Crumz was too excited at the beginning to question the interviewers about not turning on their cameras, the investor noticed several other red flags during the interview. In a tweet, Crumz, the pseudonymous Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) owner, detailed his experience with the scammers and how they attempted to steal their NFTs by requesting a banana during the interview. A non-fungible token (NFT) collector has narrowly escaped losing his assets to fake Forbes journalists during a supposed Zoom interview.

Crumz revealed that a scammer pretending to be Robert LaFranco, an editor for the American business magazine and media company, reached out to him, requesting an interview as Forbes was writing an article about BAYC. The supposed editor wanted Crumz to talk about his experience in the club. Unfortunately, Crumz failed to discover that the X account that contacted him differed from LaFranco’s original one, even though they looked up the editor’s name. While they were a bit surprised at the company’s move, the BAYC owner cooperated with the scammer and fixed a date for the interview. The bad actor failed to show up for the first call, citing a family emergency, but suggested that the interview be postponed to November 26.
