II. Despite the age difference (Jeanne was 16 and Renoir was 55 at the time they met), Badeau was friends with the artist's entire family for many years, and in 1896 she even became godmother to Jean, Renoir's second son.
In 1949, Badeau wrote and published a book, Renoir, His Friends, His Models, in which she describes episodes from the master's life with warmth.
In total, the artist created several portraits of Jeanne Badeau: a portrait in three-quarter and full-face (double), Badeau in a green hat and a lithographed portrait. There is also a painting painted in 1906 by Maurice Denis — "Auguste Renoir and Mademoiselle Badeau," in which the artist and model are depicted together.
