Why did we choose 'Double Portrait de Jeanne Baudot' to open our series of «The Greatest Works of Art» special project?
We believe with this painting Renoir had foreseen the future, since he portraited a woman, who really by all her look reminds us of social media posted photo collages whenever the model can't choose just one pose, so there are all of them. Renoir's sense of beauty is indescribably unique, aetherial colour combinations, flowers in Baudot's hat, her gentle smile and look in a slightly shy manner — a very brief moment had been captured by the great painter for ages.
Renoir was so much dedicated to pictorial art, that even while being attached to the invalid's wheelchair he still continued painting pictures with a brush sticked to his hand.
