Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian on Tuesday revealed company's plans for metaverse and Web 3.0, including a new partnership with leading cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) which has selected Google Cloud to build advanced exchange and data services. Google last year announced Project Starline, a technology project that enables coworkers to feel like they are together, even when they are cities apart. The racing competition has plans to set up an online marketplace for cryptocurrency, meta tokens, digital collectibles, crypto-collectibles and NFTs.Formula One is looking to establish itself within the Web3 ecosystem with eight recently filed trademarks for its globally recognized “F1” abbreviation. According to licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis, the race-car league filed eight trademark applications on Oct. 5 covering cryptocurrency, nonfungible tokens (NFTs), crypto marketplaces, retail stores for virtual goods, cryptocurrency trading and mining, and blockchain financial transactions. Beyond software, Formula One also plans to offer retail store services in virtual goods.

Canadian company Dapper Labs has blocked operations with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for Russian accounts. The move follows a new round of sanctions recently imposed by the EU which prohibit the provision of crypto-related services to Russian residents and entities. Dapper Labs, the creators of the Flow blockchain network and projects like Cryptokitties and NBA Top Shot. The eighth package of EU sanctions was approved by Brussels on Thursday, Oct. 6, after the latest escalation of the conflict with Russia announcing partial mobilization and taking steps to annex four Ukrainian.

Hackers are airdropping NFTs to Solana cryptocurrency owners pretending to be alerts for a new Phantom security update that lead to the installation of password-stealing malware and the theft of cryptocurrency wallets. This ongoing attack started two weeks ago, with NFTs titled 'PHANTOMUPDATE.COM'. Phantom requires all users to update their wallets. This must be done as soon as possible," reads the warning in the fake Phantom update NFT. "Failing to do so, may result in loss of funds due to hackers exploiting the Solana network.
