The report assesses the market opportunity for Metaverse vendors and ancillary services providers including infrastructure, devices, software, and supporting services from 2022 to 2027. At the interchange between physical and virtual worlds, the Metaverse is creating a new universe in which digital consumers and businesses engage in communications, applications, content, and commerce. The report states the dominant trend is for cyber-to-physical interchange as a means of enriching society.

Attorneys for an artist alleged to have sold fake Bored Ape Yatch Club nonfungible tokens could face a $1,500 sanction for “repeated violations” of a Los Angeles federal court’s standing order, US District Judge John F. Walter said Thursday. Walter also struck conceptual artist Ryder Ripp’s Anti-Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation motion.

The judge’s order said the defendants will have until Sept. 6 to explain in writing why “lead counsel should not be sanctioned.” Louis W. Tompros of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale & Dorr LLP, who represents Ripps, said in a statement to Bloomberg Law that he will respond to the order by the court’s deadline. Ripps’ motions, filed on Aug. 31, violated paragraph 3(b) of the court’s standing order, which governs the time and format for filing motions, according to Walter, of the US District Court for the Central District of California.

The NFT marketplace said that while they do not speculate on forks, the team will only support NFTs on the proof-of-stake chain. As the date for the Ethereum Merge approaches, nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea has announced that it will focus on supporting only the NFTs that are on the upgraded proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain.

In an announcement on Twitter, the NFT marketplace said that while their team is not speculating on any potential forks, as it clarified that if there are forked NFTs, they will not reflect on OpenSea as the platform will only support the upgraded chain. While the team believes that there will not be any major issues, it assured the community that they will be monitoring, managing and communicating with its users all throughout the entire process. They also asked developers to check out the details about the Merge on the Ethereum website.

The trademark includes downloadable software to view, store, and manage virtual goods, digital collectibles, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs.

Along with this, it registered trademarks for “retail shop services displaying virtual goods,” “offering an online marketplace for buyers and sellers of virtual goods,” “hosted fashion and trade events in virtual, augmented, or mixed reality environments,” and “representing virtual goods.” NFT Metabirkins collection, a fresh trademark application has been made. Hermés said in a 47-page civil complaint that Rothschild’s MetaBirkins brand.

Belarusian hacktivist group Cyber Partisans claim to have stolen the passport details of every citizen of Belarus. Hackers turned the ID of the country’s president Aleksandr Lukashenko into an NFT. The hacker group Belarusian Cyber Partisans said they’re turning the details of the country’s president’s ID into a non-fungible token (NFT). The group announced their intentions via their Twitter and Telegram accounts.

The hacktivists shared details of other Belarusian government figures such as Lidia Yermoshina, former head of the country’s Central Election Commission, Natalia Eismant, a press secretary for the president, and Ivan Tertel, the deputy head of the Belarusian KGB. Hacktivists uploaded the passport collection on OpeanSea, an NFT marketplace. However, the upload was terminated less than 24 hours after Cyber Partisans uploaded it to the platform. Hacktivists said they’re looking for alternative outlets.

It sounds like a regular day on Crypto Twitter: a Bored Ape Yacht Club avatar chats with a Cool Cat or Doodle, with World of Women or Robotos avatars in the mix, as well. But it’s also the premise of a new reality show parody called The R3al Metaverse, a show starring characters based on NFTs from those notable collections. It’s a scripted video series that begins with the premise of MTV’s The Real World—but instead of actors, the housemates are Ethereum-based NFT avatars.

The R3al Metaverse hails from Invisible Universe, a tech startup that CEO Tricia Biggio described to Decrypt as an “internet-first animation studio.” Invisible Universe’s backers include Seven Seven Six, the VC firm from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian—who owns the Bored Ape on which the show’s character Pete is based. The startup has previously created animated characters in collaboration with celebrities.

Eminem and Snoop Dogg’s Video Music Awards (VMAs) performance has split opinions, with some fans heavily criticizing the act’s Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) component. The first VMAs occurred on September 14, 1984, and soon became known as an authority in pop culture.

A 2019 article from the Washington Post said recent VMA performances “have been notable for not being notable.” It continued by calling out MTV’s waning cultural influence and the distinct lack of edge in recent shows. But far from earning the pair cultural credibility, elements of the largely no-coiner mainstream audience voiced their disapproval calling the performance “cringe.”
