2020-04-17 10:48:50 Brief Introduction of Origo DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization)

Dear Origors,

From the very beginning of Origo.Network, true decentralization has always been the core mission. As one of many contributors at Origo.Network, Origo Foundation believes in true decentralization and, therefore, an open source platform like Origo.Network should be powered and run solely by the community to avoid polarization and achieve equality, which are important goals of blockchain.

To that end, Origo Foundation is continuously shifting all its power to the community towards decentralized autonomous organization, the Origo DAO, as a community driven platform and the below principles are suggested.

Principles of Origo DAO
1. No centralized party should control ANY OGO TOKEN PRIVATE KEYS, nor the distribution of the OGO tokens, other than the team & advisor portion previously agreed by the community and token buyers;
2. No centralized party should control Origo.Network community chats, groups, etc. which were intended to be decentralized;
3. No centralized party should control the code development of Origo.Network, since the open source code shall be shared, created, edited, and developed equally by every member of the community.

Furthermore, in the near future, the below steps are to be taken in furtherance of Origo’s DAO structure.

A. Additional Developer Bounty Program Related to Mainnet Token SWAP Using Ecosystem and Foundation Reserve Tokens Up to 10,000,000 OGO (For detailed various mainnet token swap tech requirements, please contact [email protected])
B. Burning Additional OGO Tokens (details to be announced)
C. Election of Community Manager Volunteer
D. Burning Team and Advisor Portion of ERC20 OGO (Future token distribution of the team and advisor portion will be automatically conducted through smart contracts on OGO mainnet with no human participation).

After taking the above measures, the Origo Foundation will have ZERO PRIVATE KEYS of any non-team origo tokens and will have no human involvement in token distribution. Thus, Origo.Network will move more towards true decentralization. Please stay tuned for more updates on Origo DAO in the near future.

2020-04-01 11:33:36 Announcing Open Source Availability of Origo Mainnet

Dear Origors,

Origo.Network is a project dedicated to building privacy-preserving blockchain platform for decentralized applications and true decentralization has always been at the core mission of Origo.Network. As part of that mission, we have always believed that making our code open source is essential for the success of the project and, recently, we have made significant progress towards open-sourcing as we launched our mainnet Medietas on Jan 21st, 2020.

Today, we are pleased to share with you another significant milestone : Origo mainnet has been open sourced and is now publicly available thanks to relentless efforts of developers from both inside and outside of the Foundation. Developers can now access Origo repository at : https://github.com/origolab/origo

We are continuously shifting towards decentralized autonomous organization so-called Origo DAO, as a community driven project. More information on Origo’s DAO structure will be updated in the near future. Please stay tuned.

2020-02-26 11:31:08 [Update on 3rd OGO Token Burn] All 15% of Initial Total OGO Supply Were Burned Successfully As of Today

Dear Origors,

Achieving true decentralization has always been at the core of Origo.Network. To that end, we have been continuously shifting towards a more decentralized governance system by reducing the OGO token control from the Foundation.

For example, recently, the Foundation Team has decided to donate 20%(30,000,000 OGO) of its original allocation(150,000,000 OGO) for the next 3 years, resulting in a total of 30,000,000 OGO to be rewarded to new developers who join our program.

Conducting a token burn also could be regarded as one of many steps to strengthen the decentralization of Origo.Network. Today, we are excited to share the news with you that all 15% of Initial Total OGO Supply (or 150,000,000 OGO tokens in total) were burned for more decentralized Origo.Network and the long-term benefit of OGO economy.

The third OGO Burn took place today(Feb 26th, 2020) and 5% of Initial Total OGO Supply (or 50,000,000 OGO tokens in total) were burned successfully.

In summary, 3% of Initial Total OGO Supply (30,000,000 OGO tokens) were burned from the Ecosystem Reserve and 2% of Initial Total OGO Supply (20,000,000 OGO tokens) were burned from the Foundation Reserve.

Since the beginning of Origo.Network, we have been putting our best efforts to achieve privacy on blockchain as we assessed that it is essential for the full utilization of blockchain technology in the real world.

In furtherance of the above efforts, we are excited to share the news that Origo.Network will launch its developer program as described below. Dear Origors,

Through the year 2019 and this year, Origo.Network has been working relentlessly at building partnerships, launching mainnet Medietas, and executing the roadmap in accordance with our Whitepaper.

Today, we are excited to share the news with you that the Origo Foundation will burn 15% of Total OGO Supply (or 150,000,000 OGO tokens in total) for the long-term benefit of OGO economy.

In summary, 9% of Total OGO Supply (90,000,000 OGO tokens) will be burned from the Ecosystem Reserve and 6% of Total OGO Supply (60,000,000 OGO tokens) will be burned from the Foundation Reserve.

The first OGO Burn will take place today(Jan 29th, 2020) and in total of 5% of Total OGO Supply (50,000,000 OGO tokens) will be burned. After the burn, details will be updated via our official communication channel.
