"Silent" drone with next-generation ion engine

Undefined Technologies of Florida unveiled the next generation of its "silent" commercial drone. Instead of propellers, it employs an ion engine.

The last prototype flew for about 25 seconds and made about 90 decibels of noise. Undefined Technologies officials say the new Ventus drone flew for about two and a half minutes and the noise figure dropped to 85 decibels. The final target is about 70 decibels, or roughly the same as the DJI Mavic.

Incredibly cool 3D ads

The most realistic of all. And judging by the limited cities where such a board is being displayed, you can guess that it's only being tested so far.

You can see it in Seoul and New York.

VR helmet that lets you feel kisses and facial touches

Scientists from an American university have presented a VR-helmet that allows you to transmit the sensations of kisses and touches to the face.

The headset was supplemented with ultrasonic sensors that send acoustic energy to the user's mouth. The sensation is similar to what people experience when kissing.

In games, for example, virtual spiders were tested: they jumped on the user's face, and the system imitated the touch of their paws.

Testing a teleoperated lunar rover with hands

In December 2021, GITAI and JAXA tested a prototype teleoperated lunar rover at a test site simulating the surface of the Moon.

It features four independent wheels, so the robot can travel sideways, turn on the spot, and perform any other maneuvers.

At the front, there is a remote-controlled robot that imitates the upper half of the human body: it has a torso, two arms, and a head. The head has a flashlight and two cameras that allow the operator to see stereoscopic video streamed to him on a VR helmet.
