Why would you suffer at the first sight of your portfolio’s virtual drop in the value?

And why would you rejoice when the indicators on your brokerage account turn green?

It should be exactly the opposite.

If you take the Russian market for example, then you will see a long-lasting Black Friday that has been stretched out for many years for us that will someday end.

They only start to act when the pressure is really high. Before the pressure is on, there is no reason to climb, because I would be a risk.

Has somebody ever tried and climbed this obstacle? If so, they're just lucky.

But the main risk is not to get in at all. There's nothing good waiting for them down there.

2021-09-18 20:17:49 I am an amateur investor. I know far less about investing than professional market participants. However, that doesn't stop me from living off my capital in any way.
 
I also cherish the meetings and friendly relationships I have with other private investors. Why so? Because they risk THEIR OWN money, not their clients' money.
 
We (amateurs) have many advantages over the pros. What are the advantages? I'll try to list them all down below.

But that's what investors do in times of crisis.
The best businesses in the country are sold at the price of a street food cafe.
The best banks are being sold away for less than their book value.
The best businesses are sold at the cost of their 2-3 annual profits.
During the crisis, you only have to think about one thing. Will you have the $12.50 to buy a cow for the price of one bucket of milk?

So, we debate for a while, exchanging arguments. By the second or third comment, an angry investor usually cites charts and tables as evidence. As soon as I see a ruler in his hands, I immediately lose interest in the argument because I understand that there is an inexperienced investor in front of me. And this investor doesn’t understand much about the risks.
