Telegram Username Auctions: What we know so farWe’ve recently announced that Telegram is preparing to launch its TON-based Telegram Auction Platform, where users will be able to buy and sell their usernames in the messenger.
We’re aware that the platform is creating a lot of buzz — but there are lots of questions, too. Today, we’re going to share with you some details.
All usernames are represented as NFTs on TON.
Usernames can be stored in crypto wallets and put up for auction on any NFT marketplace, including Telegram’s official platform.
The Telegram Auction Platform will operate by the same mechanics as the TON DNS auction: An auction begins as soon as a user places the first bid. Every auction will have a time restriction.
There will be no need to extend username ownership.
