A standout feature of The Open Network (TON) is its high scalability and throughput achieved through dynamic sharding.

TON Blockchain consists of one masterchain and up to 2^32 workchains, each further divisible into 2^60 shardchains. This design makes TON a blockchain of blockchains, facilitating diverse and interoperable operations. Here's a breakdown of its core components:

Masterchain: The core directory and primary chain, storing network configurations and final states of all workchains.

Workchain: The Masterchain splits into individual chains called Workchains. These are customized blockchains tailored for specific transactions or use cases.

Shardchain: Sub-chains of workchains, identified by a 60-bit shard prefix, allowing for extensive scalability.

Blockchain.com has announced a collaboration with TON Foundation. As part of this endeavor, Toncoin (TON) will be introduced as an option to Blockchain.com's 90 million wallets, making it easier for users to onboard and offramp with transaction pairs in GBP, USD, and EUR.
