Stock split is generally good for companies because it allows users to purchase each stock at a lower price. High price per stock might deter users since each stock would cost a lot more.
However, fundamentally, a stock split does not increase market cap. What it does is increase the number of shares and decreasing the price. That said, stock split is usually deemed as a bullish sign (traditionally).
