2021-07-06 07:12:24 REMINDER: We are launching the MATICUSDT Quanto Perpetual Swap with up to 20x leverage tomorrow, 7 July 2021 at 04:00 UTC. The contract became visible on the platform from 04:00 UTC on 6 July 2021 as Unlisted.

As with all quanto contracts, the MATICUSDT product will have a fixed Bitcoin multiplier regardless of the Tether/MATIC price. This allows traders to long or short the MATIC/USDT exchange rate without ever touching either MATIC or USDT.

Traders post margin in XBT, and earn or lose XBT as the MATIC/USDT rate changes. This quanto risk premium may be one of the factors which results in the MATICUSDT swap trading at a premium / discount to the MATICUSDT spot price - see our blog post explaining the same concept for ETHUSD: https://blog.bitmex.com/is-the-ethusd-swap-fairly-priced/

The MATICUSDT Perpetual Swap contract with up to 20x leverage goes live at 04:00 UTC on 7 July 2021 and is visible on Testnet now.

The contract will be visible on the platform from 04:00 UTC on 6 July 2021 as Unlisted, 24 hours before start of trading.

On 29 June 2021 at 06:00 UTC, we reduced the Base Initial Margin and Base Maintenance Margin requirements for our DOGEUSDT quanto swap. 

The new Maintenance Margin requirements for DOGEUSDT are:

Base Maintenance Margin 1.00%
Base Initial Margin 2.00%
