City in Tennessee plans to accept bitcoin for taxes
Mayor Scott Conger announced on Friday that Jackson, the eighth largest city in Tennessee, plans to allow its citizens to pay property taxes in bitcoin.
He also stated that the blockchain task force wants to allow employees to use the averaging of the dollar value in bitcoins.
In a separate tweet, the politician expressed concern about the depreciation of the dollar:
“Why do we accept inflation? Why don't we ask more of our federal government? 6.3% after 2 years. 172.8% in my lifetime. Our dollar depreciates every year.”
