An attacker who hacked Poly Network for the amount of $611 begins to recover stolen funds

At the moment, the attacker has returned $1 million.

Hours after the attack, blockchain security company Slowmist said they had traced the hacker's IP address and email while investigating other identities regarding the attacker continued.

Slowmist posted on Weibo that the attacker used the little-known Chinese cryptocurrency exchange Hoo.

Other services also found information related to other exchanges that could help identify the hacker.

At around 4:00 UTC, the attacker wrote the following message in an Ethereum transaction:

"I am ready to return the funds!"

This message was followed by another:

“Couldn't contact Poly. I need a secure multi-signature wallet from you."

After about 20 minutes, the Poly Network team responded to the attacker through a transaction and identified three addresses to which the hacker should return the stolen funds.

At the moment, money is being sent to the specified wallets.
