In 2011, Giles lost both legs and his left arm after stepping on an improved explosive device in Afghanistan whilst photographing those caught up in the conflict. In 2019, he was awarded the prestigious Amnesty Media Award for Photojournalism. Giles remains a powerful champion for mine action, whether adding his voice to initiatives of the United Nations Mine Action Service or through his own advocacy projects.”
“Marco Grob, an Emmy Award-winning photographer, and director focusing on portrait photography. Over the course of several years, in collaboration with UNMAS, Grob has traveled to Afghanistan, Cambodia, and South Sudan in order to report and educate about the global tragedy caused by explosive ordnance, which inflicts terror and pain around the world.”

“Together for Mine Action: Give Life Back” - A heartfelt article sharing human stories behind mine action and the bravery of survivors in reclaiming their lives by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).

Time flies but loss stays. Through news, articles, or movies, we have seen or heard about explosions. However, the human stories behind them are what we do not always see.

“On the international level, UNMAS and other countless international and local organizations have continued to advance the victim assistance pillar by advocating for increased protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities. Via mine action programmes on the ground, efforts are ongoing to both ensure direct provision of services to survivors and their families, and establish more sustainable pathways and responses by working with national and municipal authorities to develop and enhance policies, laws and programmes.”

The article also shared the stories together with the honest photographs that were captured by Giles Duley and Marco Grob.

How do they work and manage with the implementation of Kambria DAO on XDAO? Now let’s explore it

Process:

Development progress will be managed monthly:
At the end of each month, the Dev Team submits the release and presents their report
Their work will be reviewed and approved by a Judge Committee of 5 DAO Council members which must have 2 Technical experts. If there are no Technical experts in the DAO Council yet, we will invite Guest Technical experts instead
Then the development fund will be distributed to the Dev Team accordingly

Submission, Evaluation, Implementation

Submission
Dev Team submits their work to the DAO, including source codes, demos, documents and presentations
The submissions will be packaged and tokenized as IP NFTs

Evaluation
The Judge Committee reviews the submissions by providing feedback and scores, similar to the framework used in Kambria Challenges

Implementation
The Submission and Evaluation modules will be developed by Kambria team to integrate to XDAO (similar to Starter Program’s features on Kambria platform)

Kambria has successfully organized Pet Care Robot DAO - Online Info Session on Oct 7th, 2022. The Session with memorable memories and amazing knowledge is the kick-start for our journey ahead. We would love to send our sincere thanks to our beloved guests and participants.

Via here, we would love to share the 4 key meaningful messages from our Guests’ talks and Fun Sharing:

"A person could be a "good" or "bad" person. But a person who has pet(s) and takes good care of their pet(s), they could not be a "bad" person."
"Why did pets come into our lives?". She gave us two main reasons: one is to help us in our time of need, and the other is to teach us about loving ourselves and others."
"Pets/Animals, especially Dogs and Cats, are also my best friends. So if you have brought up them, please love and be responsible with them."
“Every day when I come back from work, they also show the begging faces to let them have a chance to run around the yard or the corridor, so they also have time to practice and do exercise. I love doing that with them and always encourage them as much as possible because it’s good for the pets’ health.”

The 4 April of each year has been declared to be the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action by the General Assembly since 2005.

This year, the United Nations Mine Action Service marked the Day under the meaningful theme “Safe Ground, Safe Steps, Safe Home.”

SAFE GROUND: name of the global campaign “turning minefields into playing fields”, was launched by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in 2019, and the concept of clearing the Earth of landmines and other explosive hazards to make it safe for development.

SAFE STEPS: brings attention to the trepidation that too many people experience when they move about, not knowing if they will detonate an explosive that could maim or kill them at any moment. “Safe Steps” also describes the procedures that deminers use when approaching contaminated areas and include the application of new technology to safely remove explosive hazards.

SAFE HOME: restores the personal security of individuals and communities in post-conflict settings. There is no place like home, and it is difficult to feel at home without security and community.”

With the hope to contribute to the journey of ending the landmine scourge once and for all, Kambria kicks off our first action with Mine Clearing robot DAO - Community Action to Heal the Earth.

This week, let’s learn about Kambria DAO’s governance approach with GT token

Considerations when designing governance model:

Since Kambria DAOs are for businesses, from developing technology solutions to commercializing them, the governance model needs to balance perspectives of members contributing money and members working for the DAOs
Have a mechanism to find the right representatives to make decisions for the DAOs
Allow to make decisions fast (and correctly)
Allow Kambria as the Organizer / Architect to be able to orchestrate the development of the Kambria DAO model in the early stage, and gradually move the backstage when the DAOs are in stable operation

Governance model for Kambria DAOs:

Among DAO members who hold LP tokens, we will select representatives to join the DAO Council to make decisions for the DAO (GT holders)
Total GTs of a DAO is 1000
Quorum 70%: any vote needs 70% GTs (of total GTs minted at that time) to activate
40% (400 GTs) allocated to big fund contributors ie. LP token holders
40% (400 GTs) allocated to active LP token holders in terms of their participation in DAO businesses
20% (200 GTs) allocated to Kambria as the Organizer / Architect to orchestrate the development of Kambria DAO model in the early stage
