The average commission per transaction on the Ethereum network has fallen to $3.7, the lowest level since December 2020, according to data from BitInfoCharts.

Over the past two weeks, the average commission on the network of the second most capitalized cryptocurrency has fallen 83%. This figure continues to decline after cryptocurrency quotes fell on May 19.

At the beginning of May, ether was renewing its all-time high at $4300, but in the second half of the month, the cryptocurrency dropped to the $1700 mark.

Thanks to the fact that the Ethereum network's commission rose above $1300 in May, the coin's miners managed to earn a record daily profit ($114 million). Ether mining in May brought in $2.35 billion - almost $1 billion more than bitcoin miners earned during the same period.
