This comes following the company's decision to purchase the domain name of Beer.eth. The name cost the company 30 ETH, which Budweiser paid to Opensea's Ethereum Name Service.

Public listed U.S. banking giant, Citigroup is currently receiving a massive surge of demand from clients to gain exposure to Bitcoin. However, according to an unnamed source, the banking giant is waiting for regulatory approval from U.S. SEC to begin trading Bitcoin futures contracts on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). Another source reveals that Citigroup is building a team of crypto focused people in London.

2021-08-26 14:12:19 Galaxy Digital Holdings has entered into a partnership with Alerian in order to launch eight blockchain indexes.
The passive indexes will fall into two families, Alerian Galaxy Global Blockchain Indexes and the Alerian Galaxy Global Cryptocurrency-Focused Blockchain Indexes.
The new indexes will give exposure to certain companies and investment vehicles that have a connection to the crypto sphere, such as miners or tech developers. They are rebalanced each month and equally weighted.
Examples of platforms being tracked would be Coinbase, Marathon Digital and Mastercard.

2021-08-25 23:02:43 Kraken, a US-based crypto exchange, has revealed its plans to enter into the European market.
Jesse Powell, co-founder and CEO, noted that the exchange was endeavouring to get a European license. Through discussions with European regulators, Powell hopes that Kraken will be given the go-ahead by countries such as Malta, Luxembourg and Ireland.
Whilst Kraken has already been offering certain services to European users through the Kraken mobile app, the exchange is hoping to be able to offer more in the coming months.

Accepted tokens include DOGE, BTC and ETH. PAWS emphasised that it was attempting to appeal to and connect with a new, tech-focussed demographic of donors.
The organisation will use donations to help reach its goal of minimising the number of shelter animals subjected to euthanasia. It is also hoping to open up a new hospital for homeless cats and dogs.

During the hot summer months, BTC mining was put on pause due to concerns about electricity preservation. The country had experienced power shortages and blackouts which could have been a result of crypto miners.
However, once the summer is over, BTC miners with the proper authorisation will be able to get their operations running again.

2021-08-24 23:54:35 FTX, a crypto derivatives exchange, has bought the naming rights to Cal Memorial Stadium, a sports ground owned by California University.
The 10-year deal cost FTX $17.5M, and will allow the exchange to rebrand the ground as the FTX Field. The money owed will be paid using crypto assets.
The Cal Golden Bears will not be the first sports team to have undergone rebranding due to FTX, with the Miami Heat basketball team already having experienced this.

The CryptoPunk collection, which has been around since 2017, has been selling for very high prices recently. Visa purchased CryptoPunk 7610, which is a woman with a mohawk.
Announcing the purchase, Cuy Sheffield, Visa's head of crypto, emphasised the growth that the NFT marketplace has undergone. He also highlighted the importance of Visa having had first-hand experience of purchasing, holding and leveraging an NFT.

2021-08-24 13:11:25 The9, a mining company based in Shanghai, has signed a deal with LGHSTR to develop crypto mining sites in Kazakhstan.
The sites are expected to be providing 100MW of power by end of 2021, and 200MW of power by the end of 2022.
The project is being undertaken by The9's NBTC subsidiary, which will own 51% of the joint venture.
