ADA is recently gaining momentum as it goes further up the ‘Top 10’ list of largest cryptocurrencies. The asset lost its position as the 7th largest digital asset when BUSD’s valuation surged past its market cap days ago. This occurred when the markets saw a sudden dip that impacted the price of ADA. Nonetheless, ADA reclaimed its 7th position following a price surge as the markets picked up.

The market capitalization of Cardano (ADA) reached $19.1B on Saturday. This is the highest the asset’s valuation has reached in two months. The last was June 11, when its valuation dipped with failing markets. The asset’s market cap has not crossed the $19B mark until now. This milestone has pushed ADA past (XRP) on the top cryptocurrencies list by market cap, which had a valuation of $18.68B. ADA’s market cap has since then slightly dipped below $19B, but the asset has retained the 6th spot.

According to Github data shared by Cardano updates, the Cardano node 1.35.3 has been released. As reported by U.Today, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, while making brief comments on Vasil, mentioned the new node v.1.35.3 as the likely candidate for the hard fork. Hoskinson also added that he "doesn't anticipate any further delays unless anything new is discovered."

As stated in the developer notes: "Node 1.35.3 fixes some important issues with previous versions of the node and provides some CLI enhancements. The node provides full Vasil-era capabilities." It was also noted that "None of the (known) issues were considered to be blockers for the mainnet hard fork as they would be addressed in future releases.".The IOG team hard forked the Cardano testnet to Vasil functionality on July 3.

A blog post from Cardano developers Input Output (IO) confirmed the Vasil hard fork is delayed. Initially, the upgrade was scheduled for release on June 29. But the decision to delay came following a meeting between the core team in which outstanding bug issues were noted.

The Vasil hard fork will bring speed and scaling improvements to the Cardano chain. It will incorporate new technologies, most notably diffusion pipelining, for more efficient block propagation and several Cardano Improvement Proposals (CIPs) to improve data storage and access. In updating the progress of Vasil, IO said 95% of the Plutus test scripts are finalized. But the discovery of seven bugs led to the decision to delay the mainnet hard fork.
