Ripple may soon unveil positive developments in its central bank digital currency (CBDC) projects, following hints from Ripple CBDC adviser Antony Welfare of more announcements to come. Crypto influencer Sentosumosaba shared on Twitter on Tuesday that Ripple was in the midst of several CBDC pilot programs, including one in Bhutan and the other in Palau.

Ripple’s senior adviser Welfare, who handles CBDC Europe and global partnerships, responded on the same thread, teasing there could be “more CBDC announcements” in the “next few weeks.”. Just last week, Ripple was identified as one of the initial participants of a “Technical Sandbox Program” launched by United States-based think tank Digital Dollar Project, aimed at exploring the potential technical and business ramifications of a CBDC in the United States.

Cardano (ADA) flips XRP to become the seventh-most valuable cryptocurrency by market capitalization. The price of ADA soared 5.4% in 24 hours, about a week after Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced that the Vasil hard fork would take place on Sep. 22, 2022.

Speaking on a live stream on Aug. 26, 2022, Hoskinson said the release date would depend on the readiness of exchanges. However, in the past, exchanges followed through expediently after a hard fork announcement. Approximately 80% of the exchanges holding ADA liquidity are ready for the upgrade. The top ten decentralized apps by total value locked have already upgraded to version 1.35.3 of the Cardano Vasil code, which is the latest version.

Cardano’s (ADA) parent company Input Output (IOHK) has confirmed that the highly anticipated Vasil upgrade will happen on Sept. 22. According to IOHK, the Vasil upgrade is the most significant update to the blockchain network as it comes with increased network capacity and lower-cost transactions.

The firm continued that “the upgrade will also bring enhancements to Plutus to enable devs to create more powerful and efficient blockchain-based applications.” Input Output revealed that it has gotten assurance from stake pool operators (SPOs) and Dapp communities that they would be ready for the Vasil upgrade by Sept. 22. The announcement also revealed that the majority of the leading exchanges have started their update process — Binance has already started updating its Cardano nodes.

RippleX, the developer arm of blockchain company Ripple, has revamped the design of XRP Ledger's sidechains, according to an update shared by software engineer Scott Determan. As reported by U.Today, Ripple CTO David Schwartz introduced the concept of federated sidechains last year, a feature that would allow XRPL to compete with Ethereum by implementing smart contracts.

The new proposal intends to replace the federator with a "witness," thus offering more simplicity. This would allow different services to act independently instead of relying on a shared entity. The new design concept addresses such issues as transition throughput and fee escalation. Since transactions are not submitted by the server, users can decide on what specific fee to use. The proposal would also make it easier for developers to test new features and fix vulnerabilities due to the simplicity of the witness server.
