Non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace Magic Eden said Thursday it’s rolling out a creator launchpad for Ordinals, helping creators successfully inscribe their Bitcoin-based NFT collections.

While the company already has the infrastructure for creators to list and sell Ordinals, the launchpad will help onboard creators to the ecosystem to easily facilitate the creation of tokens on the Bitcoin network.

The process of inscribing an Ordinal NFT is far different from minting a digital asset on Ethereum, which poses a barrier to entry for many creators who aren’t familiar with the intricacies of Taproot and inscriptions.

OneRare, the gamified self-proclaimed gourmet metaverse, said on Friday that Papa Johns is offering NFTs for the first time in the metaverse. This is OneRare’s first relationship with a national business, and it will formally debut on Tuesday, with pizza-themed NFTs available for minting internationally. The first NFTs launch is in collaboration with Papa Johns United Arab Emirates, but gamers will be able to collect them everywhere.

Fans of Papa John’s will be able to buy digital replicas of three of the company’s iconic foreign pizzas, which will eventually be able to be converted into real-life prizes.

The NFTs will represent three popular pizzas sold mostly in the Middle East, notably the UAE, but will be mintable internationally. Gamers may gather digital ingredients to make virtual copies of the Super Papas pizza, Spicy Chicken Ranch pizza, and vegan Sheese Garden Special pizza.

BTG Pactual is preparing to launch the BTG Dol, a new stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar on a 1:1 ratio, using the bank’s custody services. Announcing the news on April 4, BTG Pactual said that the stablecoin would enable holders to “dollarize” a part of their equity, and help customers interact between the traditional financial system and the new digital economy.

Mark Yusko, during the Tech Path Crypto podcast, lamented that about 80% of all bitcoins are concentrated outside of the U.S. and only about 20% of the cryptocurrency remains in the possession of Americans. Yusko emphasized that even if U.S. citizens weren't invested in BTC, it wouldn't interfere with its daily functioning.

The head of Morgan Creek Capital says bitcoin is especially in demand in countries whose national currencies are subject to devaluation, such as Nigeria. In addition to the Nigerian naira, Yusco mentioned the Turkish lira, the Argentine peso and the Venezuelan bolivar. Given the unstable economies of all four countries, their citizens prefer gold and bitcoin.
