The other day a curious thing happened.

Accusations from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) flew in the direction of 11 people.

They were accused of defrauding investors of $300 million while promoting the Forsage cryptocurrency pyramid scheme.

The regulator claims that the pyramid was launched in 2020 by Vladimir Okhotnikov, Mikhail Sergeyev, Sergey Maslakov and Jane Doe (aka Lola Ferrari).

The gist of the scam: They were offering retail investors to enter into contracts via Ethereum, Tron and Binance blockchains.

It's fair to say that it wasn't just Russians

Four Forsage founders residing in Russia, Georgia, and Indonesia, as well as a group of individuals from the United States, have been indicted.

Overall, it's a cool story: the Brit who threw away $160 million worth of bitcoin hard drive (and that's at the current bearish rate) has launched a whole business campaign to find it:

1. he's found investors and expert advisors to buy these dogs (each worth over 70k bucks).
2. he is negotiating with the city administration to be allowed to search the landfill (however, so far he has been refused).
3. he even offered to pay the city $72 million to be allowed to search the landfill, but the city refused.
4 and actually, this isn't the first time he's tried to involve artificial intelligence in the search.

Kraken is among the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges which is currently undergoing a federal investigation. The crypto exchange has been suspected of violating U.S sanctions by allowing users in Iran to trade cryptocurrencies.

This alleged violation was discovered through five people who were associated with the company or with the knowledge of the inquiry. This investigation is being carried out by United States Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. Currently these investigations are underway and it is directed towards finding out if these sanctions-hit countries were permitted to buy and sell cryptocurrencies. The Treasury Department was planning on imposing a fine against the exchange but it has not suggested a timeline for the enforcement action.
